The Learning Enrichment Foundation makes every attempt to meet the needs of families within the community it serves.

Admission of children is based on space availability in the program at the centre.

Listed below are the steps that are taken should a space be unavailable at the centre:

Each wait list is administered in accordance with the following rules:

  1. Contact the centre Supervisor to inquire as to space availability.
  2. Parents and/or Guardians are required to complete an application form and to provide the following information in order to be placed on the wait list:
    1. Child’s name,
    2. Date of birth,
    3. Contact information, and
    4. Date requiring care.

*The information on the application form will be transferred to a tracking chart, which will be regularly updated and maintained by the Supervisor.

  3. Children will be placed on a Centre’s wait list at no cost to the family, on a first come first served basis in the corresponding age group, based on the date the Childcare received the completed registration form. This date will be considered your seniority date on the wait list.
  4. Supervisor will contact all wait list applicants periodically, to ensure they are still interested in care. If a family no longer requires care, their name will be removed from the wait list and the next family on the list will be moved up a space.
  5. Parents and/or Guardians are welcome to contact Centre Supervisor, by phone or email, in regards to their status on the wait list, at which time the Supervisor will refer to the tracking chart to determine their place on the wait list. Upon request, the wait list will be made available to parents in a manner that maintains the privacy and confidentiality of the children listed on it, but that allows the position of the child on the list to be ascertained.
  6. Siblings of children enrolled in the childcare centre will have priority over children without siblings. As a result of this priority, a child’s place on the wait list is subject to change without notice. For this reason, it is not always possible to accurately predict a child’s likelihood of being offered a space in the childcare program at a date in the future.
  7. When a space becomes available, the Supervisor will offer the family of the child whose name is at the top of the wait list a space in the childcare program, by email and/or by telephone at the number provided on the registration form. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to call or email the centre, if their contact information changes for any reason.
  8. A family that is offered a space in the Childcare will have up to 3 days to accept the offer.
  9. If the family declines the offer, or fails to respond within 3 days, the space will be offered to the family of the child whose name is next on the wait list. In such cases, the child’s application will be placed at the back of the waiting list.
