Parental involvement is a very important part of the program. We believe the parent is the most influential person in a child’s life and that the Centre must work cooperatively with parents to offer children a program that meets their individual needs.
Due to the busy schedules of most parents in today’s environment, we are flexible in how parents become involved in their child’s program.
Parents are encouraged to visit at any time during the day. Many parents volunteer to help on field trips throughout the year, provided they have a current Police Reference check/ Vulnerable Sector Check. Parents are also encouraged to come and discuss
their child’s progress and some common goals for the Centre and home environment with their child’s program staff. Throughout the year the Centre organizes seasonal gatherings and social events where parents can meet with each other and the staff to
socialize. Daily interactions between staff and parents provide regular feedback about the children.
We endeavour to make all of our families feel comfortable with their child care choice and confident that we are offering the best care for their child in partnership with themselves.
Parental Involvement
We encourage and support the development of Parent Groups at the Centre. The role of the group is for parents and staff to work together to offer a better child care experience for the families within the Centre and The Learning Enrichment Foundation.
The group can decide when to meet to discuss a variety of issues such as, updates on Centre news, field trips, fundraising events, and parent socials. The parents in the Centre organize and chair the meetings with the support of the Supervisor. We encourage
all parents to become involved in the group and contribute in a way that best suits them.
