LEF Child Care Educators are trained in Standard First Aid and CPR and will provide treatment to minor injuries such as cuts, bites, scratches, etc. These types of injuries will be recorded on an Accident Form, which the parent will be asked to read and sign. The purpose of the signature is simply to indicate that the parent is aware of the incident. The form will then be placed in the child’s file. Parents will also receive a copy of the Accident Form.
If your child sustains a bump on the head, you will be contacted regardless of the seriousness.
Injuries or illness requiring immediate medical attention will be reported to the parents as they occur. In the event the parent cannot be reached, attempt to reach the emergency contact will be made. The Supervisor/Staff will transport the child to the nearest hospital by taxi or ambulance (depending on the extent of the injury /illness).
