The Learning Enrichment Foundation has developed policies and procedures regarding the management of emergencies that defines roles and responsibilities for staff. The Emergency Management Policy 7.2.26 sets out procedures that will be followed to ensure children’s safety. In the event of a serious emergency or evacuation, parents will be notified by phone followed by a written report of events on the day of the occurrence.

Fire Drills are held each month in order to practice Emergency Procedures. This helps in ensuring staff and children can effectively evacuate the building in the event of a fire or other emergency situation. For your information Emergency Procedures are located in each room.

*Child Care Centres located in TDSB/TCDSB sites also practice emergency lockdown procedures several times a year. Speak to the supervisor for further details.
